The cursor is a real lens: it magnifies what is under it, bends at the rim and grows when it finds something you can click.

The lens carries a live, inert copy of the section: it magnifies around the exact point under the cursor, compresses that image again in a ring at the rim the way a thick edge does, and bends it with a turbulence displacement. It knows what it is over — links, buttons, images, or any selector you name — and grows when it finds one. On a coarse pointer it stands down completely and gives the section back its own cursor.

A ring instead of a lens: nothing is magnified, nothing is tinted, and the only thing that happens is that it opens up over a link.

A custom cursor that behaves like a piece of glass over the section it is placed in. Six modes — Glass, Magnify, Invert, Blur, Chromatic and Minimal — with real magnification around the cursor, a compressed rim, a turbulence refraction and a single-pass chromatic split. It detects links, buttons, images and any selector you add, grows over them, follows with a lag you set, hides the native cursor if you want, and switches itself off entirely on touch.
